Hong Kong POT is a wrap and yes, we got to stay at the YMCA!  There’s no need to feel down, pick yourself off the ground, cause your in a new town and there’s no need to be unhappy.  Especially when you get to wear M.Valentin’s Madden Girl shoes with a tequila in your hand!

YMCA

Young man, there’s no need to feel down.
I said, young man, pick yourself off the ground.
I said, young man, ’cause you’re in a new town
There’s no need to be unhappy.

Young man, there’s a place you can go.
I said, young man, when you’re short on your dough.
You can stay there, and I’m sure you will find
Many ways to have a good time.

It’s fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.
It’s fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys …

It’s fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.
It’s fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.

You can get yourself cleaned, you can have a good meal,
You can do whatever you feel …

Young man, are you listening to me?
I said, young man, what do you want to be?
I said, young man, you can make real your dreams.
But you got to know this one thing!

No man does it all by himself.
I said, young man, put your pride on the shelf,
And just go there, to the y.m.c.a.
I’m sure they can help you today.

Young man, I was once in your shoes.
I said, I was down and out with the blues.
I felt no man cared if I were alive.
I felt the whole world was so tight …

That’s when someone came up to me,
And said, young man, take a walk up the street.
There’s a place there called the y.m.c.a.
They can start you back on your way.

It’s fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.
It’s fun to stay at the y-m-c-a.

They have everything for you men to enjoy,
You can hang out with all the boys …

Y-m-c-a … you’ll find it at the y-m-c-a.

Young man, young man, there’s no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

Y-m-c-a … you’ll find it at the y-m-c-a.

Young man, young man, there’s no need to feel down.
Young man, young man, get yourself off the ground.

Y-m-c-a … just go to the y-m-c-a.

Young man, young man, are you listening to me?
Young man, young man, what do you wanna be?

Day 3 Hong Kong POT 2012 005

Countdown day 15 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

I heard it on the radio, RIP Donna Summer, it’s our last dance in Hong Kong tonight, so dim all the lights, but no more tears cause when I’m bad, I’m so so bad.  More time walking with Big E and Valentin, lady of the night, in the land of big Buddha’s watching sunset people.  It’s raining men with Roman and Alan on the way to the hot pot for some hot stuff baby tonight cause I love to love you baby.  It’s a love trilogy in the four seasons of love because I remember yesterday, once upon a time.

Along with Joy, the wanderer,  who works hard for the money, we’re just bad girls.  Maybe in another place and time, it was a case of mistaken identity.

All systems go for the last day of POT Hong Kong and I’m a rainbow walking in my rain boots, I feel love.

LaDonna Adrian Gaines (December 31, 1948 – May 17, 2012), known as Donna Summer, was a disco singer from the 70s and one of my first vinyl records.  She had a mezzo-soprano vocal range, and was a five-time Grammy Award winner.  Summer was the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach number one on the U.S. Billboard chart, and she also charted four number-one singles in the United States within a 13-month period.

Summer died on May 17, 2012 in the morning at her home in Key West, FL at age 63 following a battle with cancer.

Last dance
Last dance for love
Yes, it’s my last chance
For romance tonight

I need you by me
Beside me, to guide me
To hold me, to scold me
‘Cause when I’m bad
I’m so, so bad

So let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance this last dance tonight

Last dance
Last dance for love
Yes, it’s my last chance
For romance tonight

I need you by me
Beside me, to guide me
To hold me, to scold me
‘Cause when I’m bad
I’m so, so bad

So let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance this last dance tonight

Yeah, will you be my Mr. Right
Can you fill my appetite
I can’t be sure
That you’re the one for me
But all that I ask
Is that you dance with me
Dance with me, yeah

I need you by me
Beside me, to guide me
To hold me, to scold me
‘Cause when I’m bad
I’m so, so bad

So let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance this last dance tonight

I need you by me
Beside me, to guide me
To hold me, to scold me
‘Cause when I’m bad
I’m so, so bad

So let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance the last dance
Let’s dance this last dance tonight

Day 4 Hong Kong POT 002

Countdown day 16 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Day one of Hong Kong POT with some great workshops by Elizabeth Larkam, Nora St. John, and Madeline Black and students from all over Asia.  The rainy season has started and the Temple market is wet, almost got another pair of Vivianne Westwood’s for Melissa jellys, but love the ones I have already.

Thanks to participants for leaving me all these shoes by the door, and in my size!  Now which ones to pick….the Kenzo’s are looking good.  Mongolian BBQ anyone?

Mongolian barbecue;  a stir fried dish that was developed in Taiwanese restaurants in the 1970s. Meat and vegetables are cooked in large, round, solid iron griddles at temperatures of up to 300 °C (572 °F).   Despite its name, the cuisine is not Mongolian, and is only very loosely related to barbecue.  Although Mongolian barbecue first appeared in Taipei in 1951, the stir-frying of meats on a large, open surface is supposed to evoke Mongolian foods and Mongolian traditions. The preparation can also derive from Japanese-style teppanyaki, which was popular in Taiwan at the time. The very first Mongolian Barbecue restaurant (Gengis Khan Mongolian BBQ) was opened in 1976, and was located in downtown Taipei, Taiwan.

17 of #365daysofshoes The Roof is on Fire!

Day 3 Hong Kong POT 2012 006

Countdown day 17 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Planes, trains and automobiles; actually, it was a subway, ferry, bus and tram. The day started off with a newt ball on the subway, a massive urban hike in the rain to nowhere, a trek to big Buddha and a crystal bottom gondola ride from hell (I’m afraid of heights).  Mix in some Jade market, stop to set up a conference and end up on the roof cause the gang’s all here…..let the motherf***er burn.

Ann’s gonna lend me her Timberland’s today for the rain.  They say their mission is to equip people to make a difference in their world. A big company made up of a lot of small parts and incredibly talented people. The shoes are comfortable enough to wear all day and rugged enough for all year.  Outdoors is the place to be, and Timberland makes that experience even better.

Somebody say ‘Ho’ (Ho)
Say ‘Ho, Ho’ (Ho, Ho)
Now somebody, anybody, everybody scream (Scream)

Now throw your hands in the air
And wave ‘em like you just don’t care
And if you’re not a square from Delaware
And you got on clean underwear
And your momma ain’t on welfare
Somebody say ‘Oh, yeah’ (Oh, yeah)
Oh, yeah! (Oh, yeah)

Well DJ’s spinning on the wheels of steel
Like it ain’t no thing, ’cause he is for real
He’s cuttin’ the jams with a wave of his hand
And it sounds so fresh it’ll make you stand
You hear the highs in your eyes, the bass in your face
This super DJ can rock the place
You hear bass, highs, tremblin’ tones
He can even cut the jams without the headphones

Well [Stick Rick] is rockin’ to the break of day
[Makin'] all the fly girls that wanna give me a play
Now if your DJ rocks to the break of day
Let me hear you say ‘DJ’ (DJ)
DJ (DJ)

We’re gonna rock to the break of day
Say ‘Keep on rockin’ it’ (Keep on rockin’ it)
Keep on rockin’ it (Keep on rockin’ it)
Come on y’all – Keep on rockin’ it (Keep on rockin’ it)

Heh

Uhn – Uhn, uhn, uhn

Now clap your hands and stomp your feet
While the DJ scratch to the funky beat
He’s makin’ you move until your body sweat
He’s even givin’ you more than you supposed to get
Now twist and turn and let your body burn
And show everybody what you just learned
Let’s all get together and form a crowd
While the DJ play it, nice and loud
Now everybody in the place to be
Let’s all get together, repeat after me
Say, ‘Rock the house’ (Rock the house)
Say, ‘Rock the house’ (Rock the house)
Everybody say, ‘Turn it out’ (Turn it out)
Come on – Turn it out (Turn it out)
I like it (I like it)
Come on – I love it (I love it)
Let me hear ya – I like it (I like it)
One more time – I love it (I love it)
Come on

Well I’m the master blaster, a man to see
Rockin’ the bass for everybody
If ya DJ rocks to the break of day
Somebody say ‘DJ’ (DJ)
DJ (DJ)
We’re gonna rock it to the break of day
Say ‘Keep on rockin’ it’ (Keep on rockin’ it)
Keep on rockin’ it (Keep on rockin’ it)
Keep on rockin’ it (Keep on rockin’ it)
Keep on rockin’ it (Keep on rockin’ it)

Now everybody in the place to be
Let’s all get together, repeat after me
Say, ‘Ho’ (Ho)
Say, ‘Ho, ho’ (Ho, ho)
Once again – I like it (I like it)
Come on – I love it (I love it)
One more time – I like it (I like it)
Come on – I love it (I love it) Ha!

All the fellas in the house if ya wanna break dance
Say, ‘Break dance’ (Break dance)
Say, ‘Break dance’ (Break dance)
Come on
Say, ‘Break – break, break, break’ (Break – break, break, break)
Cut it up DJ

This DJ cut different ways
So let me hear you cut it, DJ

Let’s make some noise (Ho)
Let’s make some noise – come on
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
(We don’t need no water, let the motherf***er burn)
(Burn, motherf***er, burn)
The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
(We don’t need no water, let the motherf***er burn)
(Burn, motherf***er, burn)

The roof, the roof, the roof is on fire
Say ‘Ho’ (Ho)
Say ‘Ho’ (Ho)

18 of #365daysofshoes Black Coffee in Bed

Hong Kong POT 2012 005

Countdown day 18 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Yup, Joy-bert made me black coffee in bed.  I love my demo Queen counterpart.  She also got this damn Squeeze song stuck in my head.  First stop dim sum breakfast, a visit to Optimum Performance Studio to see Kevin and Phoebe (take pilates with them if you are ever in Central Hong Kong) and yes, they have CoreAlign!

Enjoyed watching the shoe parade on the ferry over to Hong Kong Island, then to Cheung Chau to see some temples and finally up to The Peak.  There will be chaffing but if you sit under the tree of knowledge all will be well washed down with watermelon juice.  With the joy of the pain, there’ll be fire in my eyes at the Temple night market and tequila in honor of Julian, wish you were here!

Loving the shoes of Hong Kong.

Black Coffee In Bed lyrics

There's a stain on my notebook
Where your coffee cup was
And there's ash in the pages
Now I've got myself lost
I was writing to tell you
That my feelings tonight
Are a stain on my notebook
That rings your goodbye
CHORUS
Now she's gone
And I'm back on the beat
A stain on my notebook
Says nothing to me
Now she's gone
And I'm out with a friend
With lips full of passion
And coffee in bed
With the way that you left me
I can hardly contain
The hurt and the anger
And the joy of the pain
Now knowing I'm single
There'll be fire in my eyes
And a stain on my notebook
For a new love tonight
CHORUS
Now she's gone
And I'm out with a friend
With lips full of passion
And coffee in bed
From the lips without passion
To the lips with a kiss
There's nothing of your love
That I'll ever miss
The stain on my notebook
Remains all that's left
Of the memory of late nights
And coffee in bed
Of the memory of late nights
And coffee in bed

Countdown 19 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

TD Hong Kong!  I think it’s Monday already and I’ve lost a day traveling to Hong Kong for Pilates on Tour.  Junk boats and English boys.

Prada and the New Yorker from Sandi for the occasion.  Look out Hong Kong Balanced Body’s in the house!

Gorillaz
Hong Kong

Lord hear me now
Junk boats and English boys
Crashing out in super marts
Electric fences and guns

You swallow me
I’m just a pill on your tongue
Up here on the nineteenth floor
The neon lights make me come

And late in a star’s life
It begins to explode
And all the people in a dream
Wait for the machine
Pick the shit up leave it clean

Kid, hang over here
What you learning in school?
Is the rise of an Eastern sun
Gonna be good for everyone?

The radio station disappears
Music turning to thin air
The DJ was the last to leave
She had well conditioned hair,
was beautiful, but nothing really was there

20 of #365daysofshoes Thanks mom! Goodnight Irene.

I Magnin from Jonathan

Countdown 20 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Of course today is dedicated to Bessie Irene Myers, but don’t tell her I told you her real name is Bessie, she hates that.  Maybe something to do with the cow on the farm being named Bessie?  Yes, we were terrible children, we called everyone she knew and had them call her on her 50th birthday and wish “Bessie” a happy birthday, none of which knew her name was Bessie before we told them.  That’s just scratching the surface and I’m pretty sure she still loves us anyway.

Ok Irene, here goes…..first thing that always comes to mind is, Jesus you’re a saint for having not taken me out by the time I was 13.  I was not an easy child, to say the least, and I know that comes as a surprise to most of you.  You’re always the glue that holds us all together, our rock when we’re  sinking and damn if you aren’t able to weather about any storm.  You’re stubborn as a mule and always taught me to never let anyone walk over me.  The kicker?  She actually chose us, I still remember her reading me “The Chosen One”, it wasn’t until later that she realized she was stuck with us for life.

Much love and respect, Goodnight Irene!

I may have had my dancin’ shoes on last night, but today is for my I. Magnin mom shoes from Mr. Jonathan.  My girl’s takin’ me out for breakfast before I leave for Hong Kong.  I am so blessed to have my girl, I am in awe of her everyday.  Motherhood is a roller coaster ride, full of fear and hurt and the best hugs in the world.  I won’t be getting any awards for mothering, but I feel like a kid on Christmas morning every time I wake up and get to see my girl and feel like the luckiest person on earth.  Much love to all the mother’s out there for taking care of the scraped knees, broken hearts, fuck ups, fights, impatience, sickness, and loving us in spite of ourselves.

I. Magnin & Company was a San Francisco, California-based high fashion and specialty goods luxury department store. Mary Ann Magnin founded the company in 1876 and named the chain after her husband, Isaac.

Goodnight Irene

Everyone covered it from Johnny Cash to Tom Waits to Van Morrison, but nobody did it like Leadbelly.

Goodnight, Irene” or “Irene, Goodnight,” is a 20th century American folk standard, written in 3/4 time, first recorded by American blues musicianHuddie ‘Lead Belly’ Ledbetter in 1933.

The lyrics tell of the singer’s troubled past with his love, Irene, and express his sadness and frustration. Several verses make explicit references to suicidal fantasies, most famously in the line “sometimes I take a great notion to jump in the river and drown,” which was the inspiration for the 1964Ken Kesey novel Sometimes a Great Notion.

Lead Belly

Like many traditional folk songs, the specific origins of “Irene” are unclear. Lead Belly was singing a version of the song from as early as 1908, which he claimed to have learned from his uncle Terell. An 1886 song by Gussie L. Davis has several lyrical and structural similarities to the latter song, however no information on its melody has survived. Some evidence suggests the 1886 song was itself based on an even earlier song which has not survived. Regardless of where he first heard it, by the 1930s Lead Belly had made the song his own, modifying the rhythm and rewriting most of the verses.[1]

Lead Belly continued performing the song during his various prison terms, and it was while incarcerated at the Louisiana State Penitentiary that he encountered musicologists John and Alan Lomax who would go on to record hours of Lead Belly’s performances. A few months prior to his release in 1934, Lead Belly recorded a number of his songs, including Irene, for the Library of Congress.[2]

“Irene” remained a staple of Lead Belly’s performances throughout the 1930s and ’40s. However, despite popularity within the New York blues community, the song was never commercially successful during his lifetime.

Covers

In 1950, one year after Leadbelly’s death, the American folk band The Weavers recorded a version of “Goodnight, Irene”. The single first reached theBillboard Best Seller chart on June 30, 1950 and lasted 25 weeks on the chart, peaking at #1. Although generally faithful, the Weavers chose to omit some of Leadbelly’s more controversial lyrics, leading Time magazine to label it a “dehydrated” and “prettied up” version of the original.[3] Due to the recording’s popularity, however, The Weavers’ lyrics are the ones generally used today. The Weavers’ enormous success inspired many other artists to release their own versions of the song, many of which were themselves commercially successful.

Subsequent to 1950, the song was recorded by numerous artists across several genres. In 2002, Lead Belly’s 1936 Library of Congress recording received a Grammy Hall of Fame Award.

Frank Sinatra‘s cover, released only a month after The Weavers’, lasted nine weeks on the Billboard magazine Best Seller chart on July 10, peaking at #12. Later that same year, Ernest Tubb &Red Foley had a #1 country music record with the song,[4] and both Dennis Day and Jo Stafford released versions which made the Best Seller chart, peaking at #22 and #26 respectively. Moon Mullican also had a country hit with it in 1950.

On the Cash Box chart, where all available versions were combined in the standings, the song reached a peak position of #1 on September 2, 1950, and lasted at #1 for 10 weeks.[5]

The song was the basis for the 1950 parody called “Please Say Goodnight to the Guy, Irene” by Ziggy Talent. It also inspired the 1954 “answer” record “Wake Up, Irene” by Hank Thompson, a top ten hit on Billboard’s country chart.

Whatever (I had a dream last night)

Butthole Surfers
…peace.
I hate the word,
As I hate hell,
All Montagues

I had a dream last night
‘Cause it looked just like a dream
I had a dream last night
But it looked unlike a dream

Mercy, mercy, I’m made of heart
Make me a suit so I can get it off
Heaven, help me, my head’s spinnin’ ’round
Stop this airplane ’cause I got to get down

I had a dream last night
And it fit me like a glove
I had a dream last night
And it fit me like a glove, the Hell one

- Ha ha ha ha…

Here’s to the Montagues
John Wayne and Betty Davis
And Romeo, he waved before
A chorus girl in Vegas, hey ha ha

Juliet is up in Heaven
A pocket full of pills
And Jesus drives to Mexico
To get her prescription filled

I had a dream last night
And it fit me like a glove
There was a scream last night
It was gettin’ kind of fun, yeah, rock out, whatever

Ha ha ha…
Ha ha ha…
Ha ha ha…
Ha ha ha…

I had a dream last night
Because she looked just like a dream
I had a dream last night
Because she looked just like a dream

She was on fire last night
And I was breathing gasoline
I had a dream last night
And it fit me like a glove

I had to scream last night
Lord above

I didn’t know where to shake my butt
Walked backwards, fucked like a fox
I was more fucked up than your sister’s tackle box
Three AM at 5 o’clock

And one of us leaves
And I got shot
Shot me down
Yeah, whatever, rock out

That’s it, this is my rhyme
Take it to the street, biyatch!

Sotto sopra in italy jazzy

Countdown 22 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Burning down the house in Sotto sopra made in Italy from Jazzy Fresh who’s comin’ to town tomorrow.  Anyone know a good fireman?

Fire lyrics

Hey, how, huh huh
Hey, hey, hey, no
Hey, how, huh huh
Hey, hey, hey, no

Fire
Fire
It’s all about
Fire
Fire

The way you walk and talk really sets me off
To a full alarm, child, yes, it does
The way you squeeze and tease, knocks to me my knees
Cause I’m smokin’, baby, baby

The way you swerve and curve, really wrecks my nerves
And I’m so excited, child, yeah
The way you push, push let’s me know that you’re good
You’re gonna get your wish, oh, no

Fire
What I said, child, ow
Fire

Got me burnin’, got me burnin’
Got me burnin’, got me burnin’
Got me burnin’, got me burnin’

Woo, hoo, hoo, baby
‘Cause I wanna

When you shake what you got, and girl, you’ve got a lot
You’re really somethin’, child, yes, you are
When you’re hot, you’re hot, you really shoot your shot
You’re dynamite, child, yeah

Well, I can tell by your game, you’re gonna start a flame
Love, baby, baby
I’m not gon’ choke from the smoke, got me tightenin’ up my stroke
Do you feel it, girl? Yeah

Got me burnin’, got me burnin’
Got me burnin’, got me burnin’
Got me burnin’, got me burnin’

23 of #365daysofshoes Danger

YSL

Countdown 23 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The Bay is no joke, the three of us got caught in a huge rip that took us an hour to get out of.  Many thanks to tortilla bandita and sherry superstar for pushing us through and for the YSL loans after we were safe on shore.

rip current, commonly referred to simply as a rip, or by the misnomer rip tide, is a strong channel of water flowing typically through the surf line.  A common misconception is that rip currents are strong enough to pull someone under the surface of the water; in reality the current is strongest at the surface. This strong surface flow tends to dampen incoming waves, leading to the illusion of a particularly calm part of the sea, which may possibly lure some swimmers into the area. A more theoretical description involves a quantity known as radiation stress. This is the force (or momentum flux) exerted on the water column by the presence of the wave. As a wave shoals and increases in wave height prior to breaking, radiation stress increases. To balance this, the mean surface (the water level with the wave averaged out) decreases—this is known as setdown. As the wave breaks and continues to reduce in height, the radiation stress decreases. To balance this force, the mean surface increases—this is known as setup. As a wave propagates over a sandbar with a gap (as shown above), the wave breaks on the bar, leading to setup. However, the part of the wave that propagates over the gap does not break, and thus setdown will continue. Thus, the mean surface over the bars is higher than that over the gap, and a strong flow will issue outward through the gap.

Rip currents can potentially occur wherever strong longshore variability in wave breaking exists. This variability may be caused by sandbars (as above) or even by crossing wave trains.  Rip currents are a source of danger for people in ocean and lake surf.  They can be extremely dangerous, dragging swimmers away from the beach. Death by drowning comes following exhaustion while fighting the river or ocean current.

Danger

Loving you
is like playing with Dynamite
But to stay away from you
I got to put,put up a fight
i cant seem to get you out of my mind
no matter how hard i try

Danger, danger
hes dangerous
danger straight ahead….

Your so explosive
just like TNT
Loving you is getting
the very best of me
I cant seem to get you out of my mind
no matter how hard I try

Danger, danger
hes dangerous
danger straight ahead….

Loving you
is like playing with Dynamite
But to stay away from you
I got to put,put up a fight
i cant seem to get you out of my mind
no matter how hard i try

Danger, danger
hes dangerous
danger straight ahead….

I thank you for bringing me here, for showing me home, finally I’ve found that I belong here.

Getting settled into the new place, thanks to the welcoming committee for helping out.  Beautiful day in the yard, nice to meet the neighbors in Sandi’s Donna Karan.

Home lyrics

Here is a song from the wrong side of town
Where I’m bound to the ground by the loneliest sound
And it pounds from within and is pinning me down

Here is a page from the emptiest stage
A cage or the heaviest cross ever made
A gauge of the deadliest trap ever laid

And I thank you for bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally I’ve found that I belong here

The heat and the sickliest sweet smelling sheets
That cling to the backs of my knees and my feet
Well I’m drowning in time to a desperate beat

And I thank you for bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally I’ve found that I belong

Feels like home
I should have known
From my first breath

God send the only true friend I call mine
Pretend that I’ll make amends the next time
Befriend the glorious end of the line

And I thank you for bringing me here
For showing me home
For singing these tears
Finally I’ve found that I belong here

25 of #365daysofshoes The Best Day Ever

Christian Loubitan purple wedge

Day 25 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Best day ever!  Hanging with Ms. M for breakfast, some SUP out on Mission Bay, stopped to see the Giants play, then off to see Tina for a mani/pedi to get us ready for Felipe’s Birthday party, top it off at the beach for a bonfire under the super moon.  Perfect, just like these Christian Louibiton wedges from Nicole.

Christian Louboutin, a French footwear designer whose shiny, red-lacquered soles have become his signature. These heels are now more commonly referred to as “Sammy red-bottoms.”  He was expelled from school three times and ran away from home at the age of 12, at which point his indulgent mother allowed him to move out to live at a friend’s house.  Although Louboutin faced much opposition following his decision to leave school early, he claims that his resolve was strengthened after watching an interview on TV with Sophia Loren in which she introduced her sister, saying she had to leave school when she was only 12, but, when she turned 50, she got her degree. He later remarked, “Everybody applauded! And I thought, ‘Well, at least if I regret it I’m going to be like the sister of Sophia Loren!’”

The Best Day Ever lyrics

Songwriters: Kenny, Tom; Paley, Andy;

Mr. Sun came up and he smiled at me
Said it’s gonna be a good one just wait and see
Jumped out of bed and I ran outside
Feeling so extra exsatisfied

It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)
It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)

I’m so busy got nothing to do
Spent the last two hours just tying my shoe
Every flower, every grain of sand
Is reaching out to shake my hand

It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)
It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)

Sometimes the little things start closing in on me
When I’m feeling down I wanna lose that frown
I stick my head out the window and I look around

Those clouds don’t scare me, they can’t disguise
This magic that’s happening right before my eyes

Soon Mr. Moon will be shining bright
So the best day ever can last all night
Yes, the best day ever’s gonna last all night now

It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)
It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)

It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)
It’s the best day ever
(Best day ever)

Best day ever
Best day ever

27 of #365daysofshoes Beyond the Yellow Brick Road

Betsy Johnson red lep
Countdown 27 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
Hard to say goodbye to Capp Street, it’s been quite a ride.  Like all good rides, it has to come to an end and it’s time to leave the park cause the roller coaster is broken and everyone’s gone home.  I should have stayed on the farm, I should have listened to my old man.
So goodbye yellow brick road…….my future lies beyond the yellow brick road
Here are my Betsy Johnson ruby slippers, a birthday gift from Lavay (thank you girl!!).  They fit me perfect, now click three times…there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home, there’s no place like home.
Beyond the Yellow Brick Road
When are you gonna come down
When are you going to land
I should have stayed on the farm
I should have listened to my old man
You know you can’t hold me forever
I didn’t sign up with you
I’m not a present for your friends to open
This boy’s too young to be singing the blues
chorus
So goodbye yellow brick road
Where the dogs of society howl
You can’t plant me in your penthouse
I’m going back to my ploughBack to the howling old owl in the woods
Hunting the horny back toad
Oh I’ve finally decided my future lies
Beyond the yellow brick road
What do you think you’ll do then
I bet that’ll shoot down your plane
It’ll take you a couple of vodka and tonics
To set you on your feet again
Maybe you’ll get a replacement
There’s plenty like me to be found
Mongrels who ain’t got a penny
Sniffing for tidbits like you on the ground

28 of #365daysofshoes Your new twin size bed

Sherry's shoes

Countdown 28 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

What’s the point of holding onto something that never gets used?  I ask myself as I unpack box after box.  At least I can unpack in style with Sherry’s Mui Mui’s all the way from Italy.  I think they’re calling me back, oh Elena….., Nancy’s walking in her Mui Mui back to Italy soon, venite a camminare con Nancy anyone?  At least I know my suitcase gets used, and how convenient, it’s already packed and this gypsy needs to get back on the road.

What’s so defeated about a twin size bed?  No room for pets, so no hair on the bed, no elbows in the face, no kicks, no snoring, sheets are cheaper, it takes up less room so there’s more room for shoes!

Miu Miu is a brand from the Prada fashion house, opened in 1993 and headed by Miuccia Prada.  The name of the collection is taken from Miuccia Prada’s nickname.

Lyrics to Your New Twin Size Bed :

You look so defeated lying there in your new twin size bed.
With a single pillow underneath your single head.
I guess you decided that that old queen holds more space than you would need.
Now it’s in the alley behind your apartment with a sign that says it’s free. And I hope you have more luck with this than me.You used to think that someone would come along.
And lay beside you in a space that they belong.
But the other side of the mattress and box springs stayed like new.
What’s the point of holding onto what never gets used?Other than to sit and desire for something new.And I try not to worry, but you’ve got me terrified.
It’s like your some kind of hurry to say goodbye, say goodbye, say goodbye.

You look so defeated lying there in your new twin size bed.
You look so defeated lying there in your new twin size bed

Bloch boots

Countdown 29 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

We finally found a place for me and SpicieRose after months of looking and we’re back in the Mission next to two of my favorite people in the world, Peggy and Donovan!  Womb to tomb.  everything free in America… For a small fee in America! It’s go time we’re on the move in my old Bloch dance boots, turns out they’re not just for fly girl moves, but come in handy for moving as well.  Great daddy-o. I bet I can dance on the roof in them….meet you there Anita.

West Side Story

Somewhere a place for us.

TONY:
There’s a place for us,
Somewhere a place for us.
Peace and quiet and open air
Wait for us
Somewhere.

MARIA:
There’s a time for us,
Some day a time for us,
Time together with time to spare,
Time to look, time to care,
Some day!

TONY:
Somewhere.
We’ll find a new way of living,

MARIA:
We’ll find a way of forgiving
Somewhere . . .

BOTH:
There’s a place for us,
A time and place for us.
Hold my hand and we’re halfway there.
Hold my hand and I’ll take you there
Somehow,
Some day,

30 of #365daysofshoes Home is where the hatred is

Stud heel on tour

Countdown 30 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Sing it Gil, it’s how I’m feeling today, let the studs speak for themselves.

Home Is Where The Hatred Is:
A junkie walking through the twilight
I’m on my way home
I left three days ago, but noone seems to know i’m gone
Home is where the hatred is
Home is filled with pain and it,
might not be such a bad idea if i never, never went home again

stand as far away from me as you can and ask me why
hang on to your rosary beads
close your eyes to watch me die
you keep saying, kick it, quit it, kick it, quit it
God, but did you ever try
to turn your sick soul inside out
so that the world, so that the world
can watch you die

home is where i live inside my white powder dreams
home was once an empty vacuum that’s filled now with my silent screams
home is where the needle marks
try to heal my broken heart
and it might not be such a bad idea if i never, if i never went home again
home again
home again
home again
kick it, quit it
kick it, quit it
kick it, quit it
kick it, can’t go home again

31 of #365daysofshoes Eating me alive!

Steve madden jean sandals from portia

Countdown 31 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

The boxes, the house, the room, the shoes!  Eating me alive.  It’s go time, it’s packing up a lifetime.  Wouldn’t it just be easier to light a match, throw it over my shoulder and just walk away?  Ok, calling in the back up, it’s too late, I’m being eaten alive.

“The end of me was so beautiful”.  ”Well now you’re stuck in my head like a love song, that climbed to the top of the charts.  How the fuck can something be so wrong and so right?  All the wrong words but all the right parts.”

But it’s such a beautiful day, just hard to say goodbye to Capp Street, then again the hookers did wake me up at 2am because she “blew a hole in her pantyhose”.  I’ll miss that.

Another great Steve Madden loan from Ms. Portia Page.  Great for taking a walk around the new neighborhood

ALKALINE TRIO LYRICS

“Eating Me Alive”

Well I found you outside like a sunrise,

That melted my eyes from my skull.
As I turned into ash before for my sweet demise,
The end of me was so beautiful.Well now you’re stuck in my head like a love song,
That climbed to the top of the charts.
How the fuck can something be so wrong and so right?
All the wrong words but all the right parts. And you can sit there and tell me that I didn’t try,
And I can honestly tell you that I never lied.
I can’t stand this dark feeling, the shark eating me up inside.
Eating me alive
Eating me aliveWell I found you out there in the moonlight,
In your eyes there were diamonds like stars.
I was bound by your father, the jewel thief,
That night as you said he was still behind bars. Now you’re stuck in my head like a love song,
The words I can never forget.
As I sucked on your neck for way too long,
And drained you of every last drop you had left. You can sit there and tell me that I didn’t try,
And I can honestly tell you that I never lied.
I can’t stand this dark feeling, the shark eating me up inside.
Eating me alive.
Eating me alive.

Here lies a homicidal story, sad but true.
The time has come and gone but I’d do anything for you.

You can sit there and tell me that I didn’t try,
And I can honestly tell you that I never lied.
I can’t stand this dark feeling, the shark eating me up inside.
Eating me alive.
Eating me alive.
Eating me alive.

32 of #365daysofshoes LPG Belly Rollercoaster

Alaia from Jonathan

Countdown 32 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

If I’m not mistaken, I think someone called me LPG.  Liquefied Petroleum Gas?  A Dutch pop band?A Korean Band (lovely pretty girls)?  Not to be confused with the American Band (Lord’s Personal Gangsters)?  I’m going with the explosives…Autogas, Breaking Bad, butane, propane; some things are just too flammable?  First produced in 1910 by Dr. Walter Snelling (Walter?  Breaking bad for sure).  Currently provides about 3% of all energy consumed, and burns relatively cleanly with no soot and very few sulfur emissions, doesn’t pose ground or water pollution but still can cause air pollution.  Maybe some similarities there…  LPG evaporates quickly at normal temps and pressures, is heavier than air, unlike natural gas, and thus will flow along floors and tend to settle in low spots, such as basements.  Hmm, I do tend to live in basements….There are two main dangers from this. The first is a possible explosion if the mixture of LPG and air is right and if there is an ignition source–well now it’s starting to make sense. The second is suffocation due to LPG displacing air, causing a decrease in oxygen concentration, I do tend to take up space in a room. Fortunately, LPG is not toxic, so there is no danger of poisoning.  So we’re good, right?  Who doesn’t like to play with fire occasionally?

“I think I didn’t understand, thought she just wants it different, indifferent to her, to keep it closer to her world, and not compare her with the girls, who like to be compared with pearls or so, no she just really likes to know, what does my belly rollercoast…don’t you think it starts with us?”LPG

These Alaia’s from Mr. Jonathan (who also gets photo credit) are about as hot as you can get!

Alaïa was born in Tunisia on 7 June 1939. His parents were wheat farmers but his glamorous twin sister inspired his love for couture.  A French friend of his mother fed Alaïa’s instinctive creativity with copies of Vogue.  He lied about his age to get himself into the local Ecole de Beaux-Arts in Tunis and began studying sculpture where he gained valuable insights into the human form.  He worked for Dior, Laroche then Mugler before opening his own shop where Greta Garbo used to come incognito for her fittings.  In 1984 he was voted Best Designer of the Year and Best collection of the Year at the Oscars de la Mode by the French Ministry of Culture in a memorable event where Grace Jones carried him in her arms on stage!  Named “The King of Cling”, LPG indeed.

Belly Rollercoaster

LPG

when the sun comes up

the flowers’ cup
is wet and it will shine upon
the drops of dew that find a place
to hide in frightened paperspace
they go their own they find a way
try to connect but with delay
they disappear they go away
their fear has paid its toll today

or blood and pain did break my bones
my moans in bed when I’m alone
creates a wind that takes my skin
curtains away the world I’m in
it makes me longue to life again
to peer through holes at life again
to live a life like others do
or lovers that depends on you

don’t you think it starts with us
it doesn’t start with me
don’t you think it starts with us

don’t you think it starts with us
I just don’t want to be
bend in words that make me

I think I didn’t understand
thought she just wants it different
indifferent to her
to keep it closer to her world
and not compare her with the girls
who like to be compared with pearls or so
no she just really likes to know
what does my belly rollercoast

I wrote:
I saw you walking down the road
I saw you talking to the snow
I felt a rock that closed my throat
when frozen eyes hid where you go t’
what did it show me
it told me I could never be
so close to you
so that before you close your door
I can get in your home

don’t you think it starts with us
it doesn’t start with me
don’t you think it starts with us

don’t you think it starts with us
I just want this to be
based on you and me

33 of #365daysofshoes Bang Bang

chanel gun shoes

Countdown 33 of the 365 days of shoes; The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Love any jewelry or shoes that can double as a weapon when needed.  Chanel, me and Madge, bang bang.

Bang Bang

Nancy Sinatra

I was five and he was six
We rode on horses made of sticks
He wore black and I wore white
He would always win the fight

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down.

Seasons came and changed the time
When I grew up, I called him mine
He would always laugh and say
“Remember when we used to play?”

Bang bang, I shot you down
Bang bang, you hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, I used to shoot you down.

Music played, and people sang
Just for me, the church bells rang.

Now he’s gone, I don’t know why
And till this day, sometimes I cry
He didn’t even say goodbye
He didn’t take the time to lie.

Bang bang, he shot me down
Bang bang, I hit the ground
Bang bang, that awful sound
Bang bang, my baby shot me down…
