We off to the hootenanny at the Riptide tonight and while there’s not mechanical bull, there’s a parade of western footwear you don’t see everywhere in San Francisco along with some damn good music. Good way to help me ease into re-entry after leaving Texas. Just don’t sit on your spurs!

Cowboy boots are a style of riding boot historically worn by cowboys, or those wanting to look like one. No lace, pointed toe, high shaft and Cuban heel and not just cowhide anymore, it’s alligator to sting ray. Whether it’s the classic (angled heel over one inch) or the roper (shorter lower squared off heel), it’s always a statement and I always feel a little Annie Oakley (who was also 5 foot tall and from OH!).
